
Camil Demetrescu is a full professor in Engineering in Computer Science at Sapienza University of Rome. He conducts research at the intersection of different areas in computing, ranging from computer security, programming languages and systems, algorithms and data structures, and software engineering. His research results appeared in international journals (including IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, ACM Transactions on Programming Languages and Systems, and Journal of the ACM) and conferences (including PLDI, OOPSLA, STOC, FOCS, SODA, ICALP). He has done pioneering work in dynamic graph algorithms and serves/has served on the program committees of flagship conferences such as PLDI, SODA, and OOPSLA. He serves on the Scientific Board of the Dagstuhl Artifacts Series (DARTS) and in the editorial board of the Mathematical Programming Computation journal. He is the national coordinator of the CyberChallenge.IT program for talent scouting in cybersecurity.
